Donnelly receives U.S. Chamber award at local event

On Monday, Nov. 20, U.S. Sen. Joe Donnelly addressed a gathering of Greater Kokomo Chamber of Commerce members at Bel Air Events in Kokomo.

Maggie Sheely with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce attended the luncheon to present Donnelly with the organization’s “Spirit of Enterprise” Award. The honor recognizes Donnelly’s support for economic growth initiatives that support Hoosier workers and businesses.

“It was my honor to join the Kokomo Chamber of Commerce on Monday, as our local businesses drive job creation and grow the region’s economy,” Donnelly said. “Working together, we can expand economic opportunities for businesses and families across Howard County to ensure that that our workers have the skills required for on-demand jobs, and every Hoosier who wants a job can get one.”

During Monday’s Chamber event, Donnelly discussed his work in the Senate and his recent legislative initiatives, including his efforts on the Senate Banking Committee.

“The event was a great opportunity for our membership to hear about matters of importance before the Senate, and we congratulate the Senator on being presented this award,” said Charlie Sparks, President/CEO of the Greater Kokomo Economic Development Alliance.
