Chamber of Commerce sets Third House schedule

Chamber members are encouraged to take part in the 2023 Third House sessions hosted by the Greater Kokomo Chamber of Commerce. The community is also invited to meet with state legislators during the sessions.

The Chamber’s 2023 legislative calendar includes two open forums and a wrap-up luncheon with state legislators. At each session, attending lawmakers will provide an overview of current legislation before the Indiana House and Senate and address questions from those attending.

“Third House sessions provide a crucial forum for lawmakers to ensure the voices and needs of their constituents are heard and represented,” said Lori Dukes, president and CEO of the Greater Kokomo Economic Development Alliance. “Facilitating this interaction is just one of the many reasons why the Chamber is so vital to the overall prosperity of our community.”

All three sessions will be in Hingst Hall at Ivy Tech Community College, 1815 E. Morgan St. Invited to take part in the sessions are Mike Karickhoff, House District 30; Heath VanNatter, House District 38; Jim Buck, Senate District 21, and Stacey Donato, Senate District 18.

The events are sponsored by NIPSCO.

The first two sessions will be open forums, with the first from 4:30-6 p.m. Friday, Feb. 3, and the second from 8 to 9 a.m. Friday, March 3. Legislators will take questions from the audience at both.

The third and final session will be a wrap-up luncheon summarizing key happenings from the legislative session. It is set for 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, May 4 at Bel Air Events. To register, click here.
