Chamber of Commerce sets second Third House session

After a well-attended first Third House session, the Greater Kokomo Chamber of Commerce readies for its second event with state legislators.

The public is again invited to meet with state legislators from 8 to 9:30 a.m. Friday, March 17, in Kresge Auditorium at Indiana University Kokomo, 2300 S. Washington St.

Invited to attend the March 17 session are Mike Karickhoff, House District 30; Heath VanNatter, House District 38; Tony Cook, House District 32; and Jim Buck, Senate District 21.

Attending lawmakers will provide an overview of current legislation before the Indiana House and Senate and then address questions from the Chamber and the audience.

“We were very happy with the number of residents who took advantage of the first session with legislators because it shows our community is invested in its future,” said Marla Miller, Chamber manager of membership development. “We hope to see another great turnout at the second session as communication with our lawmakers is a key component of the democratic process.”

Sponsored by NIPSCO, there is no cost to attend the March 17 event. The final Third House session of 2017 will be a wrap-up luncheon summarizing key happenings from the current legislative session. It is set for 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. May 12 at Rozzi’s Catering and Continental Ballroom, 920 Millbrook Lane. Tickets for the wrap-up luncheon are $15, and the Chamber asks that attendees register in advance.
