Women of Excellence Awards

2017 Women of Excellence Awards

The Elizabeth Foster Award is an honor designated for a Howard County professional woman who helps other women in the community reach their full potential. Named for 19th century Kokomo founder Elizabeth Foster, the award was given to Tracy Martino of the Family Service Association of Howard County.

Finalists for the award were Gabby VanAlstine of Indiana University Kokomo and Jessica Green of Hoosier AM/FM Radio.

Women of Excellence Awards were given to five professional women in Howard County, including:

• Angie Martino of Martino’s Italian Villa received the Break-Through Professional Award, which recognizes a woman who has risen through the ranks of her profession.

• Deb Mumaw of Sam’s Club received the Volunteer Award, which recognizes a woman who has a passion for her Chamber and community.

• Breanne Bennett of Farm Credit Mid America received the Connector Award, which recognizes a woman who connects others to build business relationships.

• Jennifer Hindman of Community Howard Regional Hospital received the Leadership Award, which recognizes a woman who inspires others to achieve greatness.

• Abbie Smith of the United Way of Howard County received the Maverick Award, which recognizes a woman who has affected positive change in their profession.

Also, Holly Ireland of Solutions Day Spa was honored with the WBC Member of the Year Award.

 
2016 Women of Excellence Awards

• The Elizabeth Foster Award Winner is Michelle Simmons, Ivy Tech Community College Kokomo Region. The finalists are Sherry Rayl of Project Access and Peggy Baugher of BMO Harris Bank.
• the Trailblazing Woman of 2015 Award Winner is Jo Brooke of Solutions Day Spa. The finalists are Jan Bailey of Ivy Tech Community College Kokomo Region and Angela Martino and Martino’s Italian Villa
